Heading out

With the tide on it's way in and a following wind, the surf yesterday down at Shoreham harbour mouth attracted every man and his dog with a board - it looked quite packed out there - but a lot of fun.

To this wonderful building which is in fact our The Royal Sussex County Hospital - otherwise known at "The Sussex" - it's not often that you "look up" when you're in a city - For example I didn't know it had flags on the top!

Still pouring.....

Continuing with the sea/bad weather theme thingy this week - here's another brave soul heading out to the open sea in pouring rain!

Surfing in the rain.....

As the dire weather continues it doesn't seem to have dampened the spirits of some - this chap was out boogie boarding come rain or shine.

Shoreham warning

I know it looks like I've tampered with the colours on this one - but not so. These warning rods are in shoreham, telling boats and surfers to not come near - i think it's a storm drain outlet.

BDP is off air - whilst on annual vacation

Normal service is resumed on 24th June. I'm down in Devon with the family and there's NOOOO service at all - 3G or phone or anything - hurrah!

Waiting for the train...

Here at hove station - well known to many commuters.....Spotted "THE POLICE" poster on the RHS, apparently touring later this year with a promo, Greatest Hits album released this week.

Shoreham Docks

Taken at low tide, you're looking here at the mouth of the docks with the entrance to the harbour on your RHS. Not very interesting you may think but this is where every big ship you see on the Sussex coast heading to offload its cargo.....

curvature of the lens

Have you noticed the pronounced curve from the Nikor lens - look at the pier - it looks bent!

Send in the crowds

Just a drop of sunshine brings the crowds flocking to Brighton - brings a real buzz to the place, it's great.

Circles in the sand

A local artist or just someone who likes drawing circles had been out early to make these marks in the sand just in front of the West Pier. You can make out the marks at the footer of the picture.

On the wing...

Taken on auto setting with the Nikon D80 at 200mm Zoom - this shot looks quite crisp with an element of movement.

A super stunning day yesterday followed swiftly by clear blue skies this morning - I'm off down to the park with the kids to cool off in the paddling pool...

Thoughtful....

With the waves rolling gently in I captured this up Nr the Volks Railway mid-station. The sun is shining today - we're in for a smashing weekend.
