The Iron Duke
This duke can be found looking out over the shops in the Lanes in the centre.
BDP will be on a short hiatus - off to another seaside resort, Bournemouth, for a few days.

Brighton Station
I was amazed at this shot - taken with my cameraphone with no adjustments to it at all - this is my phone's take on how to deliver the image - admittedly there was lots of tungsten light - just great colour....

Gala Bingo
....now in wreck and ruin.
A once thriving art-deco inspired theatre on Portland Rd spent many years as a bingo hall. With the advent of online gambling and non-smoking laws the bingo trade is in peril!
Sadly this once quite pretty building now stands forlorn.

Doctor Doctor Beat
Dr Brighton's quite a famous pub and pre-club bar - right on the seafront - right on brighton - right in the thick of it!

Underneath the arches
Between the pier and the marina is this series of arches - housed within are art studios, nightclubs, venues and cafes. Recently painted it's worth stroll from end-to-end.

Rottingdean Windmill
As I had some freetime on Friday I passed the Windmill golf course on the seafront and couldn't resist taking the pic against a beautiful blue sky backdrop.

Symmetry
There's a really nice symmetric feel to todays submission from Hannah. Looks like it was taken from the Palace Pier and you can see the Brighton seafront at the top of the pic. Nice one Hannah and thank you.

Life's a rollercoaster....
This wonderful sun-thru-structure silhouette of our only Brighton rollercoaster (located on the main pier) was sent in by Hannah Cole. Thanks for helping me out Hannah whilst my camera gets better at the menders!

Embassy Court
Sent in from Paul Jackson who grew up in Hove and now lives abroad and is a regular visitor to the site. Thanks Paul.
This is Embassy Court, often controversial building, which was allowed to fall in to wreck and ruin but has recently been restored to its former art-deco glory.
Apparently in its heyday Rex Harrison used to live in its penthouse apartments.

Remember, Remember....
....the 5th November, Gunpowder, treason and plot.
Each year in the UK we celebrate Guy Fawkes night - or most commonly called Bonfire night. It's an old celebration that celebrates a foiled attempt to blow up the houses of Parliament.
Mostly now it's celebrated over the weekend preceding or following the 5th itself and we all set off fireworks and build bonfires........
This shot is of Brighton fireworks on Portland Road.

The West Pier
I know we've featured many (many) shots of the west pier on this site - but I was sent this stunner from Dan Betts who is rightfully proud of this capture.
Thanks for the pic Dan and I hope you enjoy it too dear browser.....

Royal Pavillion
I've had to revert to a library shot today and must apologise for the lack of frequency of recent posts.
The sad thing is is that my camera is away for repairs at the moment after I dropped it :(
I am inviting other contributors over the next few days to feature their particular take on Brighton and its surroundings.
please send to harveydean_uk@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance.
