Timber comes ashore in Brighton

OK so I'm still in Dallas - returning today - but this amazing picture was sent in to me by BDP regular contributor Hannah Cole.

It shows the load of Timber that's come ashore across the Sussex Coast following the sinking of the cargo ship Ice Prince last week, It went down about 26 miles (42km) off the Dorset coast after being damaged in a storm early last week.

The clean up operations is going to take weeks.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of BDP next week.

  1. I remember a similar story a couple of years ago in Cornwall. Nearly every house in the area had either new fencing of a new garden shed. Keep your eyes open Dean for similar things appearing in Brighton.

  2. what a striking photo, but i'm crying for the trees!

  3. Great perspective and combination of elements and textures.
