Spannerworks becomes iCrossing

The company I work for Spannerworks became iCrossing this week, it's been almost a year since the acquisition and it seems like a good logical progression. Presented to UK CEO Arjo last week at the rebrand party was this photoshopped pic of the Palace Pier.

Nice one.

Hannah Cole Rocks!

Just when I'm short of a photo for BDP my good friend Hannah comes up trumps with a shot to post which lands in my inbox.

Not sure of the background to this one however (Hannah perhaps you'd like to leave a comment?) but it looks like it was taken down nr the Carousel on the seafront.

Wood on Brighton Beach

A few weeks on now and still the effects of the sunken ship abandoning its cargo of timber are still being felt across the coastline. It could take months to get back to normal.

A few people have found some creative uses for the wood.

Not quite Brighton! This is Greenland

I apologise in advance however I just couldn't resist publishing this photo I took on my recent flight to the states. This in fact is the southern tip of Greenland - all you can see is miles of ice pack - and yes - that is the sea that's frozen in front of the land!

Timber comes ashore in Brighton

OK so I'm still in Dallas - returning today - but this amazing picture was sent in to me by BDP regular contributor Hannah Cole.

It shows the load of Timber that's come ashore across the Sussex Coast following the sinking of the cargo ship Ice Prince last week, It went down about 26 miles (42km) off the Dorset coast after being damaged in a storm early last week.

The clean up operations is going to take weeks.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of BDP next week.

Howling gales bash Britain

Torrential rain and high winds have been battering Brighton for the last 24 hours with some more serious consequences in other parts of Britain.

We have rain coming in through our kitchen window frame which sounds serious (expensive!) :(

BDP will be taking a brief hiatus due to a business trip - but will return next Tuesday.

Irish Pub

Taken inside the O'Reilly's Irish Bar in the Lanes in Brighton - if it wasn't for the television then the treatment could make the photo look timeless (1950's ish).

We seemed to go through a period in the 90's where faux irish bars were all the rage - as you can see - it's not so popular now!

Brighton Pavillion

In a desparate attempt to turn the rubbish light for photography, these dull grey skies, into something interesting I took this today and have fiddled about in Photoshop until I got something I liked. Not to everyone's tastes I'm sure - bring me some sunshine please so I can photograph colourful things!!! Feeling blue - just like the Pavillion....

Shoreham Port

With a little trickery from Photoshop makes this image come to life - night-time desolate grounds at the back of shoreham port.

Shopping in the sales

The sales have taken their grip in Brighton - Here in the North Laines there are some real bargains to be had.
