Fantastic little restaurant on Little East Street is The Blue Man, highly recommended and a fantastic team, specialising in North African food. Go there if you're in town.

Beauty and the beast

Like all cities there's the good and the bad - on my way into work this morning I'd walked past the Pavillion with it's nice blue backdrop and then into work where all the litter had been strewn across the road.

The Big Fish

With two wee ones the playground and cafe "The Big Fish" at hove lagoon is a real adventure.

Reflections

Taken down at Hove Lagoon, reflecting the play area and blue sky we've been enjoying of late.

Arundel Castle

The seat of The Dukes of Norfolk and set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens, Arundel Castle has been open to visitors seasonally for nearly 200 years.

Who pulled the plug?

This is Hove Lagoon - well it was until a few weeks back, when it was drained for it's annual clean up. You get used to something for so long that it's unusual to see it empty. Not much windsurf training going on over the next few weeks then?

Snoozing

Taking a bit of time out on the seafront is always an attractive proposition and I WANT a beach hut - they're so kitsch.

Wig Wam

There's still LOADS of wood being washed up on our beaches following the recent sinking of a cargo ship of the Devonshire coast. Some of it is being put to good use, here as you can see there's been a TeePee constructed!

Fish and Chips

Almost everywhere in Brighton you can get the national dish of Fish & Chips !!!

Misty Morning

Old Vs Old

Sails

The recent run of superb weather has meant lots of happy snapping over the weekend.

These are the "sails" which cover the forecourt and entrance to our Sea Life Centre here in Brighton.

Starlings over pier...

Since the demise of the West Pier, the starlings that used to roost there have slowly started to move across the 1/2 mile or so to Brighton Pier.

Quite a spectacular display most evenings now as they swoop and turn before making themselves comfortable for the night under the pier in the struts.

Wake up sunshine

Brighton was bathed in beautiful sunlight this morning as I drove in on my motorbike. I park up just nr to to the Brighton Pavillion and I know it's been featured many times on this blog but I couldn't resist posting this one with the blue sky in the background and the sunlight making the dome seem golden.

Stuck in a rut

This is the beach following the clean up operation, rutted following all the heavy machinery which was used to remove the wood from the beach.

The weekend

Was still and quiet down at the marina - there's loads of new restaurants and shops opened down there.
