Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.....

Brighton continues to basque in it's summer temperatures this week with another sunny day forecast today.

One thought did strike me travelling back into Brighton at the weekend just as the hoardes were leaving. Whilst we have a lot to offer in our city we don't make it easy for our visitors. There's not enough parking, we rip-them off when they do park, the seafront cafe's and fish and chip stalls are still tacky - and we're just not over enthusiastic when providing customer service to our summer visitors.

We should be really grateful for the tourist £££ in Brighton as it's keeping our town alive in these difficult trading conditions - we should embrace our visitors and really make them feel welcome - who knows, they might even come back!

  1. Hopefully all visitors don't travel by car. Nice scene.

  2. I keep coming back to Btn every summer all the way from Sweden (been doing so for the past seven years) and I spend as much money as possible when Im there. And youre ALWAYS a thousand times nicer and more polite than people are in Sweden. To me, Brighton is heaven on earth.

  3. Vega - I LOVE the fact that you've posted here on this issue. I love this city and am delighted that you think these things. Sometimes when you're close in it's hard to get a true picture of what people think. Thanks for posting.

  4. Somehow, I've never associated the UK with trips to the seaside!

  5. This was the pre-conceived view I had of the English seaside. But what did you do with all the people? It never looks like this. There are people everywhere!
