This post is being written by my young son James (7) who accompanied me to work today.
James has learned from his friends that underneath some (non-audible) pedestrian crossing signals there is a special knob that turns around when it's safe to cross. This is so that visually impaired people know when it's safe to cross.
You learn something new every day.
